Why consult an Osteopath?

Osteopathy is a science recognised for its effectiveness on many pathologies. We take care of all patients who have difficulty adapting in their life trajectory.

We have the privilege to be able to take the time with each of you to establish a link between different symptoms and pain felt , and not only treat the consequences as during a consultation with a general practitioner.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of populations and pathologies that we can help, or even treat completely.

Travail au bureau

Sedentary adults

A significant  amount of our patients are adults working in an office or from home.

We can work with sedentary patients in order to prevent or reduce the frequency of the appearance of symptoms such as back pain, stiff neck for example.

We all have stiffness, little underlying pains not taken into account by our brain on a daily basis.

Prevention work is often important in order to quickly treat dysfunctions before they become disabling.

If we allow these dysfunctions to worsen, the body will then adapt and compensate in order to let you lead a normal life.

However, in the event of stress, disturbed sleep, unforeseen false movement, your body's tolerance threshold is exceeded. You then have persistent pain, which prevents you from leading your life the way you want.

Your muscles are constantly contracted to protect you and prevent you from making further mistakes that can potentially dangerous to your health and physical integrity.

Manual workers

Manual workers are particularly exposed to pain in their everyday life.

Unlike a professional behind a desk, a building professional, a hotel professional, or a sailor for example; frequently carries heavy loads, works in unusual and awkward positions.

These professionals must take special care of their body, which is their first working tool.

Any injury can cause some time off work, which quickly becomes extremely penalizing for their income, or they continue to work while waiting and hoping for improvement. They then wait until they can no longer work to have an operation.

This extreme measure can sometimes, or even often be avoided by going to an osteopath, who will diagnose you and advise you on how to adapt your profession to relieve the injury, compensate effectively without creating another injury in another place and allow you to work. efficiently without interruption.

Pregnant Woman

Pregnant women and the gynecological sphere

Pathologies that we can help

The human body is in itself incredible, the body of a pregnant woman manages to be even more so. Throughout pregnancy, the body undergoes significant physical changes.

The foetus, growing in the abdomen, causes an increase in abdominal pressure. there are many organs in the abdomen, these are moved, compressed, stretched; in order to leave space where there is normally very little.

The woman will therefore gain between 7kg and 18kg, a load that her body must carry without any break.

To allow this, hormones, muscles will change and the spine will arch, to allow a process that would be simply impossible for any man.

However, sometimes you also need a little help. An osteopath can help you through the trimesters of your pregnancy, reduce the discomfort, and make the delivery process easier for your baby.

We can also help you after your childbirth and accompany you in your new life as a mother!

  • Fertility, painful periods

  • Fatigue, trouble sleeping

  • Nausea, digestive disorders

  • Joint pain associated with pregnancy

  • Preparation for childbirth

  • Breastfeeding

Petite fille, bébé

Infants and children

Childbirth is a key time for your baby. He discovers a whole new world.

His/Her body prepared for it for nine months.

However, he/she quickly undergoes many external constraints, especially at the end of the pregnancy where space is scarce for him/her, and during childbirth as well.

A paediatric osteopath can take the time to test many developmental factors, called primitive reflexes. These reflexes are essential for development and are subsequently lost when they become unnecessary. Reflexes initially absent or which do not disappear may  have repercussions on the development of the infant.

Many other symptoms are sometimes considered "normal" such as colic, recurrent crying, sleep or eating disorders, but can be treated and reduced. The shape of the skull, sometimes slightly asymmetrical (we speak of plagiocephaly or "flat skull"), can also be corrected

The vast majority of children without major pathologies develop without having any pain, except possibly growing pains.

It is "abnormal" for a child to develop recurrent or sharp pain without previous trauma.

Unfortunately, we are seeing more and more children with pain similar to those experienced by adults.

These pains are mainly linked to a change in lifestyle habits, which have changed drastically over the past 20 years. The advent of smartphones, electric scooters, hoverboads for example, are obstacles to the natural mobility of children, who will adapt their posture to their daily lives.

Childhood is a pivotal period of a whole life, psychologically, but also physically. We can diagnose and treat problems that will impact your child's life. Growth allows us to make small changes that will be lasting.
